Key pointers for new players in Hunting Season
What is a Hunting Season anyway?
Before joining the wonderful community of Ulala, new players/characters are given the chance to participate in a hunting season for 15 days and gain a lot of power and resources. New season starts every day on every server always at a set time
SEA - 10pm EST
EU - 4am EST
NA - 11am EST
Global - 11am EST
If you want to compete with other new players and become the next Hunting King, we suggest you start at the very beginning of the newest season.
Ok, I’m in. Now what?
Once you’re in, find a team and start pushing levels on the map. To make your hunting adventure as easy as possible, aim to be in a team with 1 tank, 1 healer and 2 dps characters. As you level up your character, more and more features in the game will unlock for you including *drum roll please* - The Adventure Contest!
The Adventure contest will set milestones for you based on map progress and each milestone will give you a lot of starfish, which is a very useful and precious currency in the game.
Up to 75% you’ll receive 100sf
From 75% to 95% - 200sf
From 95% to 99% - 300sf
From 99% to 99.59% - 400sf
99.60% - 500sf
99.70% - 600sf
99.80% - 700sf
99.90% - 800sf
100% - 1000sf
You and your entire team get the same rewards and progress so you have to make sure you work together. Top 25 teams of the hunting season get special rewards, top 4 receive a Hero Soul and N1 - the Hunting King - receives a Title, Follower costume pet and a chest full of valuable resources.
You will also have access to exclusive packs unavailable after hunting season is over
What do I spend my starfish on?
New players have the benefit of obtaining quite a lot of those and the best place to spend them in is the Gift Pack shop (in the Market tab) and more specifically on the Chieftain Aid Gifts.
In these packs there’s everything you need to pass a hunting season:
Shells to upgrade your equipment and temper it
Wish coins you use in the Wishing Well to get a legendary quality skill
Skill Vouchers to draw more skills
Gems to inlay in your gear
XP statues for a cheeky level boost
Rare Fossils to upgrade your pet research
Pet eggs that spawn a pet (unlocks at level 16) of each element to help you fight the bosses
Food for your Hero Bond that unlocks at lvl50
3 Hero Souls you can summon around level 35.
Pro tips and mistakes to avoid:
1. Rookie Pass - it costs 188 pearls and is only available for new characters. The value of the items in it is a lot higher than 188 pearls so if you can afford it - buy it! If you can’t - focus on getting the skill vouchers.
2. Feasts - Feasts allow you to capture high quality exclusive pets, but DO NOT make the mistake of using them during your hunting season. Once you finish it and move onto the main server every 1st and 15th of the month, there will be a pet capture event with an increased chance of capturing 2 of the strongest pets in game - Shadowmoon and TigerKid. Shadowmoon has 8% capture rate up on the 1st and TigerKid on the 15th. This is when you should use your feasts.
3. Always, always, ALWAYS do your daily quests otherwise your teammates won’t be able to change your skill configuration and pet and this could get all of you stuck on one boss. No time to waste during hunting season, so be active!
4. At days 5, 10 and 15 of the season, you will receive special rewards based on your map progress. You can see the time remaining for each of those on a banner at Camp (first tab with a little hut)
5. Rare Fossils can be used before you unlock Pet Training via a weekly quest you get. Just click on the little arrow next to the quest and it will allow you to use the fossils as soon as you get them. And don’t tell anyone about this, the devs don’t know.
6. Set your AFK focus to Skills. You will need lots of those.
